European Championship Finals History

The UEFA European Championship, commonly known as the Euros, is a quadrennial international football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The competition was first held in 1960, and has been held every four years since then, except for 1968, when it was held every three years. The tournament was originally known as the European Nations' Cup, but was renamed the European Championship in 1968.

The European Championship final is the last match of the competition, and the result determines which country's team is declared European champion. The final is typically played at a neutral venue, although there have been a few exceptions. In 1960, 1964, and 1968, the final was played over two legs, with each team hosting one leg. In 1972, 1976, and 1980, the final was played at the home stadium of one of the finalists. Since 1984, the final has been played at a neutral venue.

The most successful team in European Championship history is Germany, with three titles. Spain and Italy have each won the tournament twice, while France, the Netherlands, the Soviet Union, and Czechoslovakia have each won the tournament once.
