Novak Djokovic Extends Unbeaten Run in Australia

Djokovic Defeats De Minaur in Fourth Round of Australian Open 2023

Serbia's Unbeaten Streak Reaches 44 Matches

Novak Djokovic continues to dominate the Australian Open, extending his unbeaten run in the country to 44 matches. The Serbian maestro defeated Alex De Minaur in straight sets in the fourth round, setting up a quarterfinal clash with Andrey Rublev.

Djokovic, the defending champion, was in imperious form against the Australian youngster, winning 6-2, 6-1, 6-2. The 35-year-old broke De Minaur's serve six times and hit 39 winners to secure a comfortable victory.

Djokovic's victory extended his dominance over De Minaur, who had never won a set against the Serbian before. It also marked Djokovic's 10th consecutive win at the Australian Open, where he has won nine titles.

With his victory over De Minaur, Djokovic set a new record for the longest unbeaten streak in Australia in the Open Era. The previous record of 43 matches was held by Roger Federer, who achieved the feat in 2017-2018.

Djokovic will now face Rublev in the quarterfinals, a player he has defeated 11 times in 13 meetings. The winner of that match will face either Daniil Medvedev or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals.
